We believe all children will achieve at high levels.

Uniform Policy

Deltona Elementary School’s faculty, staff, and School Advisory Council believe that school uniforms promote a more productive and positive learning environment. Research indicates that school uniforms provide many of the following benefits: ~A safe school environment ~ A sense of pride and school unity~ A more focused learning environment ~ decrease in peer pressure and bullying among students.

Tops

· Solid colored short or long sleeve polo style with or without DES logo and properly fitted.

· Sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn over the polo shirt; adhering to the school board policy. Bottoms

· Uniform pants must be solid navy blue, khaki, black, or gray.

· Solid colored uniform pants, shorts, and capris in the above stated colors are acceptable.

· Girls may also wear skorts or jumpers in navy blue, khaki, black, or gray.

· Shorts, skorts & jumpers are to fit appropriately & no shorter than 4” above knee.

· Leggings may be worn under uniform bottoms; adhering to the school board policy. 

· Shoes must have closed back and toe. Due to safety concerns, Crocs are prohibited.

· Sneakers or tennis shoes are required on P.E. days. Non-Compliance Consequences: 1st time out of uniform ~ Verbal warning, written notification sent home to parent 2nd time out of uniform ~ Phone call home to parent to bring a uniform to the school. 3rd time out of uniform ~ Parent will be notified of the violation and student will receive ISS. Uniforms must be worn at all times including all Field Trips, Award Ceremonies, and School Pictures!

•DES administration has final discretion as to whether or not a student is violating the dress code. Thank you for  adhering to our uniform  policy.
