Happy New Year, Yellow Jackets! As communicated last month, we will begin using our new car line for drop off and dismissal.
Please refer to the attached map and follow these procedures for drop off and dismissal starting tomorrow, Jan 9th.:
- Cars dropping off and/or picking up 2nd through 8th Grade students will continue to enter at the Vespa light, but will follow the new traffic pattern that includes the permineter of our WWK8 parking lot only. We will not use the WWHS car loop anymore. For pick up, Drive Line numbers will be entered at the entrance into our lot as usual. Cars will drop off/pick up students at the front of the school and then turn left to exit using Vespa Way to head South on Hwy 19 or turn right to exit at the WWK8 marquee to head North on Hwy 19.
- Buses will return to the lop next to our gymnasium, using the middle entrance near the WWK8 marquee and exiting there or at Vespa Way depending on their route, NO cars will be permitted to use this entrance during drop off/pick up times.
- Cars dropping off and/or picking up Kindergarten and 1sst grade students will use the new car line at the northernmost entrance. For pick up, Drive Line numbers will be entered upon entrance into WWK8 property. Cars will follow the traffic flow, pick up students at covered and numbered posts on the sidewalk, and exit t he same way they entered, turning North on Hwy 19.
- Siblings will be dropped off/picked up at the loop of the youngest child in the family. If the youngest sibling is in the Kindergarten or 1st grade, the family will use the new loop. If the youngest sibling is in the 2nd grade or older, the family will continue to use the current front loop.
- All cars in both pick-up lines (all K-8 students) will need Drive Line numbers displayed prominately on the passenger side until all children are loaded safely into the car. If you need a Drive Line card, please contact the teacher of front office.
We will have assistance from HCSO during this transition and are awaiting updated signage. Teachers will be communicating and practicing with students. We appreciate you reviewing the new locations with your child(ren) as well to ensure sibling groups meet at the correct location. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation!
