Alternative Certification Information
Alternative certification is a program designed to make it possible for a wider number of people to consider a career in teaching. Through alternative certification, individuals who have a Bachelor's Degree in a field other than education can earn a teaching certificate while they are employed as a teacher. The Hernando County School District does not offer an Alternative Certification Program. Please see the link below to the Florida Department of Education of approved EPI providers.
