Annual Notice of Non-Discrimination

The Hernando County School District offers CTE programs at all the high schools and middle schools. Please refer to the attached flyer and/or each school website for more information. Wilton Simpson Technical College offers programs in:  Welding, Automotive, Barbering, CNC, Cosmetology, Cyber Security, Diesel, HVAC, and Law Enforcement.

The district prohibits discrimination in the terms and conditions of employment, and in access to educational programs and activities, and prohibits harassment of any individual or group on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or genetic information (and other protected classes included in the district’s nondiscrimination policies).

Lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation. The district may assess each student’s ability to benefit from specific programs through placement tests and counseling, and, if necessary, will provide services or referrals to better prepare students for successful participation.

The Hernando County School District, does not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, genetic information, or handicap in its educational programs or employment practices. By operating in this manner, the School Board adheres to the provisions of Federal Law and other applicable laws. Specifically, Hernando District Policies states, “The School Board does not discriminate on the basis of race (including anti-Semitism [as defined in Bylaw 0100]), ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, disability (including HIV, AIDS, or sickle cell trait), pregnancy, marital status, age (except as authorized by law), religion, military status, ancestry, or genetic information which are classes protected by State and/or Federal law (collectively, "protected classes") in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities.” The District also provides equal access to its facilities for the Boy Scouts and other identified Title 36 patriotic youth groups, as required with 34 C.F.R. 108.9. In accordance with Florida Administrative Code, national origin minority or Limited English Proficient (LEP) students shall not be subjected to any disciplinary action because of their appropriate use of a language other than English. The lack of English skills will not be a barrier to admission into any Career and Technical Education Programs offered at any of our schools, Wilton Simpson Technical College or adult education programs.
