School Social Workers

In the Hernando County School District, a School Social Worker plays a vital role in supporting students' academic, emotional, and social well-being.

Intervention Development

Collaborate with school staff to create and implement strategies for students facing learning or behavioral challenges.
Counseling Services

Provide individual and group counseling to students.
Crisis Response

Participate in school and district crisis teams to support students during emergencies.
Assessment & Reporting

Assess students to determine if they need additional services and help identify special educational needs.

Each school in Hernando County has a trained, professional, masters degree-level social worker assigned full time or part time to offer services to include, but not limited to:
