Bus Route Information
Access transportation information, including the student's bus route number, bus stop location, and scheduled pick-up and drop-off times, using either of the following:

Students can sign on and off the bus by either:

REMINDER! New this school year: Bag Restrictions at Athletic Events
• Backpacks, bags, and large purses are prohibited at all on-site HCSD school sporting events starting in the 2026-2027 School Year
• Small, clutch-type purses are permissible as long as they are no larger than 4.5” by 6.5”. These purses will be subject to search.
• Coolers of any type are prohibited.
• Binoculars or cameras will be allowed into games if carried by hand. Bags designed specifically to carry those items are prohibited.
• Blankets are allowed during cold weather but should not be placed in a bag.
• Those who show up to the game with unapproved bags or items will be refused entry until the prohibited items are returned to a vehicle. Prohibited bags cannot be left at the gate or unattended on campus.
• There will be exceptions for bags required for medical needs, diaper bags, pre-approved members of the media covering the game, and student athletes participating in the game. All bags are subject to inspection.

- New for 2026–2027: All incoming 9th-grade students and first-time FHSAA high school student-athletes must have a completed and cleared ECG and EL1 form uploaded before participation.

FortifyFL
Please take a moment to review this key information regarding the state tip line FortifyFL and concerns with false reporting.
WHAT IS IT? FortifyFL was designed as a tool to keep schools safe. FortifyFL is an app that allows anyone to instantly relay information of suspicious or dangerous activity to law enforcement, school officials and state officials. FortifyFL allows an individual to report suspicious activity anonymously or provide their contact information for follow up by law enforcement.
WHAT DO I NEED TO UNDERSTAND? In accordance with Florida Statute 943.082, starting August of 2024, all Florida school districts are required to ensure that all students receive age and developmentally appropriate instruction on the proper use of FortifyFL. All students enrolled in Hernando Schools have received this instruction. To reduce barriers that might delay vital information from getting to safety officials, school districts are also required to provide access to the FortifyFL app on all district-issued devices.
All threats reported to law enforcement, school officials or through FortifyFL are taken seriously and are thoroughly investigated. Submitting knowingly false information to law enforcement diverts important resources away from those needed for actual emergencies and carries serious legal consequences for those who violate section (s.) 836.10, Florida Statutes (F.S.) including felony arrest.
- "It is unlawful for any person to send, post, or transmit, or procure the sending, posting, or transmission of, a writing or other record, including an electronic record, in any manner in which it may be viewed by another person, when in such writing or record the person makes a threat to: (a) kill or to do bodily harm to another person; or (b) conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism."
WHAT CAN I DO? Keeping our schools safe is everyone’s responsibility. It is important to remember that FortifyFL should only be used to report suspicious, dangerous activity or potential threats. FortifyFL should never be used for making a joke or intentionally providing false information. Talk with your student about the proper use of the FortifyFL app and ensure they understand the serious outcomes for false reporting.

Smart Glasses
This is a friendly reminder that smart glasses are not permitted in school. Smart glasses and similar wearable technology are considered wireless communication devices and are prohibited in the same way as cell phones, smart watches, and other smart devices under our policy.
Because these devices can record audio/video, access the internet, and receive/send messages, they present concerns, including:
- Privacy risks (recording classmates and staff without consent)
- Academic integrity issues
- Distraction from learning
Students found wearing or using smart glasses during school hours will be subject to disciplinary action according to the code of student conduct.
