Brooksville, Fla. - The Hernando County School District has selected Brandon Wright to lead F.W. Springstead High School starting July 1st upon the retirement of current principal Dana Pearce.
Wright is currently the assistant principal at D.S. Parrott Middle School but has roots at Springstead High School serving as a social studies teacher from 2010-2021 and an assistant principal from 2021-2024.
“I am excited to return to the place where I began my journey as an educator and I look forward to building upon the legacy that makes Springstead special,” said Wright.
This year Wright was also recognized as the district’s Assistant Principal of the Year for his outstanding impact and leadership at DSPMS.
“We are pleased to announce Brandon Wright as the new principal of Springstead High School. His passion for student success, focus on educational excellence, and strong leadership skills will greatly benefit the Springstead community. I am certain that Springstead will continue to grow and excel under his leadership,” said Ray Pinder, Hernando County School District Superintendent.
Wright is succeeding Dana Pearce who announced her retirement earlier this year. She has been at FWSHS since 2010 and has been at the helm since 2019.
“I have loved my time here as an Eagle but feel very confident that I am leaving the nest in great hands. I will miss you FWSHS family,” said Pearce.
