Hernando Schools welcomes new board members

Brooksville - The Hernando School District installed its newest board members today, welcoming aboard Shannon Rodriguez and Mark Johnson.

Rodriguez has lived in Hernando County for more than 36 years. She graduated from Central High School and has a nursing degree from Pasco-Hernando State College. She and her husband own Dynasty Collision and Auto Repair in Weeki Wachee. The couple has four daughters, three who are enrolled within the Hernando County School District. Shannon is active in several community organizations, including Kiwanis Club of the Adventure Coast, Junior Service League of Brooksville, and the Rotary Club. She is a member of the Hernando Schools Career and Technical Education Advisory Board, and Vice President of the Hernando County Education Foundation.

Johnson returns to the school board, after serving on the board from 2014 to 2018. He is a licensed investigator and owner of a private investigations firm, and moved to Hernando County from New York 16 years ago. Johnson is a member of the Hernando County Manufacturers Association and Hernando County Chamber of Commerce. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration and a Master's Degree in public administration.

Rodriguez and Johnson were sworn into office, along with returning board member, Susan Duval. Guadagnino was elected as Board Chair and Duval will serve as Vice Chair.
