HCSD Earns a District Grade of B

Brooksville, Fla. – The Hernando County School District (HCSD) earned an overall grade of “B” with 63% in total points as reported in the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) annual report of school and district grades released July 1. 
 
The district is now 2% away from an “A” grade rating after an increase of 2% (24 total possible points) from 2025 assessment results.  
 
Our students’ success is a reflection of the dedication of our entire school community. 
 
These results demonstrate the hard work of our students, the commitment of our teachers and staff and the unwavering support of our families.
 
While we celebrate this achievement, we remain focused on ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow, succeed and reach their full potential. 
 
Together we will continue building on this momentum to provide an exceptional education for every child.
 
Schools increasing their grade from last year are Spring Hill Elementary, Suncoast Elementary, Westside Elementary, Fox Chapel Middle School, West Hernando Middle School, Nature Coast Technical High School and Gulf Coast Elementary School. 
 
District schools that received an “A” were Chocachatti Elementary School, Suncoast Elementary, Challenger K-8, West Hernando Middle School, Nature Coast Technical High School, Hernando eSchool, B.E.S.T. Academy and Gulf Coast Academy.   
 
None of Hernando County Schools were rated below a “C”.
