Patriot Day: A Day for Reflection and Remembrance

As we remember September 11, 2001, Hernando County Schools joins our nation in honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the countless families forever changed by the events of that day.

We also honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, members of our military and everyday Americans who demonstrated extraordinary bravery, compassion and unity in the face of tragedy.

For our students, many of whom were born years after September 11, it is important that we continue to share the lessons of that day, remembering those we lost, honoring those who served and recognizing the strength that comes when Americans stand together.

May we never forget.
